The Prophet Still Speaks
About the Author
The author of this website
The author of this website lives in the UK. He has been a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church for over 45 years. His first involvement in the denominational controversy over the Godhead was at the beginning of the year 2000. Since that time, he has researched the development of what has been taught about the Godhead, within the Seventh-day Adventist Church, since its beginnings. The articles on his website are a result of that research.
The purpose of this website
The purpose of this website is to help all those who are interested, which in the main will probably be Seventh-day Adventists, to understand the issues involved in the present Godhead debate within their denomination.
This website reveals not only the author’s personal understanding of both the history and the theology of the trinity doctrine but also details the history of how, during the 4th century, this teaching was first introduced into Christianity. It also reveals how the Seventh-day Adventist Church, after rejecting the trinity doctrine all the time of Ellen White’s ministry, eventually developed a modified version of it. This is as it is now stated in their fundamental beliefs in their church manual.
Those who have been involved with this trinity debate will undoubtedly realise that regarding the three personalities of the Godhead, the present day Seventh-day Adventist Church now rejects as error what was once taught by the vast majority of early Seventh-day Adventists. The denominational history set out on this website reveals both how and when this change transpired, also what was involved in the changeover. The reader will see that there has been a dramatic change in beliefs. This change concerns the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
In this debate, one of the major issues concerns whether Christ, in His pre-existence, is begotten of the Father. This is why, by means of the articles he has written, the author of this website attempts to explain the various issues involved in this concept. As most Seventh-day Adventists will probably realise, their denomination today denies that Christ, in His pre-existence, is begotten (brought forth) of the Father therefore it is denied that He is truly the Son of God. Instead, Seventh-day Adventists teach today that for the sake of the redemption of mankind, the three persons of the Godhead are simply role-playing the parts of a Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The initial reason for this website was because the leadership of the Seventh-day Adventist Church today claim that their denomination changed their theology from non-trinitarianism to trinitarianism because of what God revealed through Ellen White. The author of this website denies that this claim is valid. He believes that Ellen White’s writings, when taken overall, support a non-trinitarian view of the Godhead. He believes therefore that her writings are being misused and misapplied. On his website he shares what she really wrote about the personages of the Godhead. This is why the website is called ‘The Prophet Still Speaks’.
Please take note that the author’s writings are ongoing. This means that as and when necessary, they will be updated. He will also be glad to hear from anyone regarding what he has written. Please email him with any comments you wish to make, or questions you may wish to ask.
God bless you in your studies.
Christian regards
